Profile
Glycans are biosynthesized without a template unlike proteins and nucleic acids. They have characteristics that reflect the physiological state of cells, and are important for understanding aging process. More than half of the proteins produced in our body are post-translationally modified with glycans. Currently, I am performing to clarify the potential of glycans as aging markers, and to clarify the relationship between glycans and aging-associated diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and sarcopenia, etc. The research concept is shown below.
